Copa Norte-Nordeste was a football competition disputed between clubs from the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, and was an evolution of previous similar tournaments. The competition was contested between 1968 and 1970, by the state champions (and, in some states, the runner-ups) of those Brazilian regions. The competition was divided in two zones, one for each region: the North Zone and the Northeast Zone. The best qualified team of each zone played against each other in the competition final. In 1970, the first two qualified teams from each zone played a four-team round robin to decide the competition champion.
